The one where two of my books reached a major sales milestone #respectromfic

I had some special news just before Christmas – that as of the end of October last year, two of my books had joined Boldwood’s 100,000 Club. This is for books which reach a sales milestone of 100,000 copies sold in the English language version across all formats, so it includes digital, print and audio sales.

The first was Snowflakes Over The Starfish CaféThis particular title came out back in 2021 but has steadily sold over the years and has also had a print run going into The Works, massively helping boost the units sold. Snowflakes Over The Starfish Café joined the 100,000 Club after 3 years and 2 months.

The second was The Start of Something WonderfulThis was a much more recent title, published in 2023. It hasn’t been stocked by The Works so there was no big print run to boost this book’s sales. It joined the 100,000 Club after 1 year 3.5 months.

Waiting to greet them was Finding Love at Hedgehog Hollowwhich joined the 100,000 Club at the same time the year before after 3 years and 4 months.

Boldwood send a lovely card to celebrate the milestone as well as a bottle of fizz. I’m not a big drinker so, when Finding Love at Hedgehog Hollow joined the club, I was sent a bottle of champagne in chocolate format. This time, with two joining the club at the same time, I was sent a congratulatory plaque. Oh my goodness, how delicious was it? I managed to avoid it for several days but once I broke it into pieces and popped it in a tub, I couldn’t stop lifting the lid and having a little piece.

Are any of my other titles on their way to joining these three in the 100,000 Club? The Secret to Happiness is my closest at 90,000 sales but, at the rate it sells now, we could be talking two or maybe even three years before it hits 100k. New Arrivals at Hedgehog Hollow is not far behind it at 88,000 but I’d suggest it’ll be the same timescale – possibly even more as the eBook of this title is available as part of a box set so many readers choose the box set over the individual titles which count as one sale for the box set but don’t affect the individual books.

I actually think that A Breath of Fresh Air will be next over the line. In just under 11 months, it has sold 75,000 copies but sales have massively slowed down now so it could make it by Christmas next year… but it could take a fair bit longer.

Even if none of my other titles make it into the club, I am so thrilled to have had these two join the hedgehogs and I can’t thank you, my lovely readers, enough for making this possible. I’m so exceptionally grateful, especially as the indie me selling zero copies most days barely dared to dream of 1,000 sales. And an enormous thank you to my amazing publishers, Boldwood Books, for the cards and chocolate. My apologies that I’m a bit late in posting about this but the cards and gift were a little delayed in getting to me, and then I was hidden in my editing cave and have only recently emerged for a photoshoot!

Big grateful hugs

Jessica xx
